Ruins of Zakimi castle. The outer walls and gates, still standing from the 15th century when this thing was built. Amazingly survived WWII along with many other Gusuku ruins.
This is one of my favorites taken at Okinawa. This girl was actually trying to get us to take our portrait. But instead became my subject....and she didn't even hesitate to pose and smile. The Okinawa kimono (I'm sure there's a proper name for it that I just don't know) is much different from mainland. Much more of the Chinese feel and look.

Some more from Okinawa.....
Different sheesa of Okinawa. Gotta love 'em!

One "World Heritage" that I will definitely revisit soon is the Gusuku sites and Ryuku kingdom in Okinawa. Visit this awesome SITE to read about Okinawa history. Everytime I visit this site I feel like I'm there.

A gift for my birthday was a trip to Hakone. The weather could've been better but didn't let that ruin the weekend. The onsen (hot springs) were the bomb*! More to come.....

More from Akarenga with my tse-45mm lens. Still getting my practice so I should have some more and better 'miniatures' up soon.

For you car and bike freaks: Some pix from MultiPlex 2006. Just like last year, the event was kick ass! Didn't get to see any D1 drifters but did get to see some good amatuers. Never thought that people used 310 Sunnys, TE-71 Corollas or KP-61 Starlets for drifting but there were. Sorry,...didn't get any shots of actual drifting.

I was playing around with an old lens and decided to totally take it apart and destroy it. What I ended doing was taking out the front optics and created, sort of, a macro lens. Of course I have to be close to the subject to get in focus.... I guess I won't be taking bees and flies with these lens. Anyway, don't throw away those old moldy lens just yet. You may find a good use from them.
