Beautiful sky, from the park in front of my apartment.

These bugs were all fighting over this one berry.......but there were berries everywhere on the ground. Maybe I should've told 'em that.

More signs of the matsuri (festival) season....flea markets....

Hakone shrine. The moss on the ground and trees just made this shrine so much different from other shrines that I've been to. The fog and rain was a great addition to the look and feel too. It was almost like I can see ghostly images walking around as if I was looking back in time at lives of people that passed through here before. Maybe I let my imagination go off a little too much.....whew!
The fog that covered Lake Ashi was good and bad. Because of it, I couldn't see Mt. Fuji. But because of it, the lake was very pretty with nothing but white floating above it. Riding on this pirate ship through the fog was too cool!

Dinner is served. The food was great at the ryokan in Hakone and it kept on coming and coming and coming and..... It's strange how there aren't that many overweights in Japan. You would think there were a lot by the amount of food that was served here.
Wasabi Ice Cream! Yum! My favorite!

10 July 2006

Matsuri season has come. Time to see funky junk food like these chocolate covered bananas......
...and corn on the cob...

Tozan-densha, also know as the Ajisai-densha @ Miyanoshita station.
An old abandoned apartment complex.

Parts of Hakone Fujiya Hotel where John Lennon stayed.
The main stair case of Fujiya Hotel where, I'm sure John Lennon walked. The interior of the hotel was very, very, very nice. Very western and majority still as it was back in the 50's and 60's.

At one of the corners on the famous "Sepia St." in Hakone, is this antique gift store. It was a popular place for foreigners (even some famous foreigners) to shop. Charlie Chaplin, John Lennon, David Reyna, Eisenhower, and many others. Just kidding,....I didn't shop there.

Lost at the bus stop.

This lizard was just as pretty in real life as it is in this photo. This must've been its sun bathing spot. Passed this place twice and it was there both times.
"Live a long life" water. Drink this stuff and you'll live long. I drank a ton of it!
I will now live a long time!
