Missing them already!

If the cherry blossom season is actually a season, I will have to say that it is my favorite. And boy am I missing the cherry blossoms already. This year, it just seemed to have screamed by quicker than any other year, as much as I can remember. I wasn't able to go out and shoot as much as I wanted to. But the worst part is, I wasn't able to get drunk under any. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to get drunk twice next year and make up for this year.

Plastic?

I really appreciate getting an hour for my lunch break. It gives me time to walk around and enjoy nature, a great stress reliever for me. Anyway, this was taken near my office. If I hadn't known better, I would have thought these flowers were fake because they were so shiny.

Engakuji, Kita Kamakura is just a short walk from where I live. Getting there is not bad at all but once there, seems like I was walking forever. And if you're in as bad of shape as me, then you will end up feeling it for days after. Now that Spring is here and we've got warmer weather, I'm thinking I will be heading out that direction more and more from here on. These are two snaps taken toward the back of Engakuji.

Here's something different. This photo wasn't quite as sharp as it could've been but I really liked the pink flowers on the green grass and thought it was blogworthy. I'm a big fan of Ninagawa Mika's photography and thought I'd give it a touch of her style....yeah, yeah, I copied her, but that's how much I like her work. Anyway, I added some effects in Photoshop and this is what I came up with. Hope you like it.

Here's something that I've been wanting to do for quite some time. Capture the difference of this center walk in Kamakura early in the morning and in the afternoon.
At 6am Friday, March 28, almost everyone is a local just taking their morning stroll or walking their dog. (image cropped about 50%)

Not exactly the same angle but close enough. This was taken on a Saturday around 5pm Saturday, March 29. Not only is there a ton of people but notice the cherry blossoms are more full. This was also my first glimpse of the bride and groom that day.
