More from Yonaguni. This place has a sad story behind it. During the Ryukyu era, to control the population on this island, the pregnant women were forced to jump, to their death, into this crevice. It's now full of green but the crevice is about 3 feet by 7 feet, a lot bigger than it looks in this photo.

This was right next to the crevice area. I'm no expert but this definitely looks like the remains of a structure that once stood here. Interesting.....
